Regardless of where you live, the weather can be a very unpredictable thing. When you are planning for a wedding, you will hope to have the best weather possible for your special day. Unfortunately, weather is something that is out of your control, and you cannot predict in advance whether it will rain on your wedding day. Therefore, it is best to be prepared in case it does rain on your big day. Here are some tips for how to be prepared...

Marry indoors or plan a sheltered area
The easiest solution to avoid the rain is to book an indoor wedding. Whether you have this at a church, a hotel or some other venue, an indoor wedding will protect you and your guests from the rain. If you have chosen to hold your wedding outdoors, make sure that there are the resources available to create sheltered areas at the venue. If there is a really heavy downpour, then the whole wedding party can take cover from the weather. Equally, while eating food outdoors is a nice idea, it is best to have a back-up plan in the event that it rains. This should either be inside or under a covered area to prevent the food from spoiling and the atmosphere being miserable.

Appropriate attire
If you are marrying at a time of the year when it is more likely to rain, then this is worth taking into consideration when choosing clothes for the bride and bridesmaids. Shoes in particular should be purchased with puddles in mind. While they should still match the outfits and look pretty, practicality should also be taken into account.

Transportation
Travelling in an open-top car or a horse and carriage can really make you feel like a princess for the day. However, if it rains, you will spoil your look before you have even arrived. Discuss with the company providing the transportation if alternative options will be available to you. Ask the driver to bring an umbrella for when you arrive at the venue.

Weather is an unpredictable entity, and rain can put a real downer on your wedding day. However, if you make alternative provisions and prepare in advance for the possibility of rain, you can still have a special and memorable day regardless of the weather.
